Try FLUX.2 Klein in the official browser demo
FLUX.2 Klein combines image generation and editing in a compact model family. For an installation-free first try, open Black Forest Labs' hosted 4B demo below. It runs on Hugging Face in a separate page; the external service controls availability, sign-in and any GPU limits.
This is an independent guide linking to the publisher's demo. The FLUX 3 generator on the homepage uses a different model; it is not the FLUX.2 interface. Start with the dedicated demo when you want to evaluate this generation.
Describe one subject and one scene, make a small image, then save the output with its settings. If a free hosted run is unavailable, review the service's message rather than assuming a retry will reset its limits. This website does not sell FLUX.2 credits or provide a private inference endpoint.
Choose between the 4B and 9B checkpoints
The family name does not identify one download or one license. Confirm the complete checkpoint name before selecting files or deploying a project.
| Checkpoint | Primary source | Weights license | Decision to make |
|---|---|---|---|
| FLUX.2 Klein 4B | Official 4B model card | Apache 2.0 | Evaluate the smaller model and its runtime requirements |
| FLUX.2 Klein 9B | Official 9B model card | FLUX Non-Commercial License; review commercial options | Check hardware, task quality and permitted use for this exact checkpoint |
A parameter count is not a VRAM requirement
The transformer count omits other loaded components and runtime memory. Precision, references and output size affect the actual workload. Follow the selected model card's supported installation rather than transferring a memory claim from another checkpoint.
Read the exact license
Do not apply the 4B license to 9B because their names share “Klein.” Additional applications and hosted services have their own terms. Keep a record of the model revision and license used by your project.
Build a useful first workflow
- Pick the exact model. Use 4B or 9B deliberately and retain the source link.
- Start with text-to-image. Use one subject and a clearly described setting so an error is easy to spot.
- Test one edit. Supply an image you may use, request one change and check the regions that should stay the same.
- Add references gradually. Say which image supplies a subject, style or background rather than giving every reference conflicting jobs.
- Save a baseline. Keep the prompt, model, seed, output dimensions and workflow with your image.
For local use, follow the usage section of the chosen official model card. FLUX.2 files and workflow settings are not interchangeable with FLUX 3 files. Preserve an existing installation while evaluating another model family.
Keep this workflow or compare the next generation?
Stay with a working setup when it meets your task and licensing needs. When native 4K, reference handling or a different deployment route matters, use the FLUX 3 versus FLUX.2 comparison to plan a controlled evaluation.
For that decision, compare equivalent tasks at the same output size, record the model-specific settings, and review failures as well as successful images. The comparison guide distinguishes published specifications from an independent speed or quality benchmark.
To try the newer family afterward, return to FLUX 3 Image Klein or read the new model overview. For local migration, use the separate FLUX 3 setup guide.
